一、表示推薦、建議：
Recommend 和 suggest 是最常見用於推薦的動詞，兩者意思接近，只是 recommend 偏向基於經驗或判斷而做出推薦，suggest 可以用於單純提出想法，未必是正式的建議。使用時有下面三種句型：
1.接 V-ing
例如：
I suggest taking the 4:30 train.
我建議搭4點半的火車。
2.接 that 子句（備註：that可省略）

She recommends that we visit the local museum.
他推薦我們去當地的博物館。
3.接名詞（備註：recommend 較常用，表示推薦某人或某物）

三、Advise 與 recommend, suggest 的比較：
Advise 的意思是忠告、勸告，通常針對特定的對象，有給予指導的意思，常用於上對下，或專家對客戶提出意見。使用上要注意 advise 後面雖然可以接不定詞也可以接動名詞，但是用於「建議某人做某事」時，通常使用不定詞用法，也就是 advise + 人 + to + 動詞。

表示介紹引薦某人或單位或給A
Thanks for referring me to your accountant. He helped me sort out my tax return in just one day.

2.refer A（人）for B（機會或職位）
表示推薦A爭取某個機會或職位

五、表示正式提議、提案
Propose 常用於正式情境，例如會議、學術或嚴肅的討論。比 recommend 或 suggest 有更明確的目標，不只是推薦，而且希望因此做出決議。有以下用法：（備註：與recommend, suggest 不同，propose 後面可以接不定詞）
1.propose + 名詞／動名詞
She proposed a revision to the company's reward system.

2.propose + to V
