多益單字必考同義字集錦整理─名詞篇

必考字義1---建議、提議

這個類別裡的4個同義字，只有advice是不可數名詞，其他都有複數形。性質上第3、4項較常用在正式的場合或提議，一起來看一下它們個別的慣用法和例句。

1. suggestion (n.)

make a suggestion for Ving / about N. (提出關於~~方面的建議)

I'd like to make some suggestions about our service.
我想針對我們的服務提出一些建議。

2. recommendation (n.)

recommendation for N. (關於~~的建議)

The committee put forward a few recommendations for making improvement in water supply system.
委員會提出了一些關於改善供水系統的建議。

make a recommendation to 人 (給某人建議)

If you don't mind, I'd like to spend a few minutes making some recommendations to those who just made into the final contest.

3. advice (n.) 單數形：a piece of advice

give advice on / about N. (給關於~~的建議)

We are here to give local people advice on health issue.

4. proposal (n.)

proposal for N. / to V. (關於~~的建議)

He wrote a proposal to impose higher tax on houses.
他寫了一個建議書提議增加房屋稅。

必考字義2---命令、要求

這一類的4個單字本質上都具有強制和正式的意味，常用在軍隊中，或是上對下、公司制度等要求或規定的描述中，一起來看一下慣用語法和常考的字詞搭配。

1. command (n.)

give a command to V. (下令做~~)

The captain just gave a command to fire at will.
隊長剛剛下令自由開火。

2. order (n.)

give an order to V. (下令做~~)

The president gave a straight order to the secretary of defense to withdraw all the force.
總統直接向國防部長下令將所有武力撤出。

take orders from 人 (聽從某人的命令)

I think there must a misunderstanding here. I don't take orders from you.
我想這之間一定有什麼誤會，我不聽命於你。

obey / disobey orders (服從/違背命令)

He is in disciplinary confinement for disobeying his superior officer's orders.
他因為違背上級長官的命令而被關禁閉中。

3. demand (n.)

make a demand for N. (做關於~~的要求)

She made a demand for an immediate review of the system.
她要求即刻重新檢查系統。

meet/satisfy 人's demands (滿足某人的要求)

I find it is rather difficult to meet his demands under certain kind of circumstances.
我發現在某些狀況下要完成他的要求是非常困難的。

4. request (n.)

make a request for N. / to V. (提出關於~~的要求)

He made a request to postpone the payment of his student loan.
他提出將學貸繳款期限延後的要求。

refuse / reject a request (拒絕要求)

Both banks rejected his request.
兩家銀行都拒絕了他的要求。

必考字義3--- 優勢、優點

這一類別的同義字主要是用在描述具有某些優點或佔優勢的狀況下，可以大大增加一個人或是事情的成功機率時，基本上也都是可數名詞，一起來看用法例句。

1. advantage (n.)

give 人 an advantage to V. (讓某人具有~~的優勢)

Her appearance often gives her an advantage to be chosen during the audition.
她的外貌總讓她在試鏡時具有脫穎而出的優勢。

have an advantage over N. / 人 (比~~更具有優勢)

The home team always has an advantage over their opponents.

2. benefit (n.)

have the benefit of N. (具有關於~~的優勢/好處)

benefit for N. / 人 (對~~的好處)

Considering the great benefit for our company, she accepted the offer without too much hesitation.

3. privilege (n.) 優勢、特權

Getting 15% off on every purchase is a privilege of working for the retailer.
每次購物都能得到85折的優惠是作為零售商員工的一項特權。

4. merit (n.)

I can see very little merit in this proposal.
我在這項提議裡看不出有什麼優勢。
