發年終啦
首先，「年終獎金」的說法是year-end bonus或annual bonus，常用give out或hand out表示發放。如果是以現金的形式，常會用cash bonus的說法，因為國外也很流行用其他形式獎勵員工，例如gift card (禮品卡) 或gift certificate/voucher (禮券/商品券)。
A: Is your company giving out year-end bonuses this year?
B: If NT$5,000 counts as a bonus, then yes.

當然啦，對員工來說，還是白花花的鈔票最實際，若要表達獎金有幾個月，可以用 ~ month(s)' wages/salary。用up to ~ 或as much as ~ 則可表示「上看…」或「高達…」。

如何用英文說「犒賞自己」
「犒賞」或「慰勞自己」的說法是treat oneself to或reward oneself with，後面接名詞或動名詞。年終獎金除了用來儲蓄或消費，也常被用來繳房貸pay mortgage或學貸pay student loan，若要表示「繳清」則可用pay off。
A: What are you going to do with your annual bonus?
B: I've worked so hard this year, so I'm treating myself to a shopping spree at
the Mitsui Outlet Park. What about you?
A: I'm thinking about using it to pay off my student loan. But then again, maybe I should reward myself with a weekend getaway first.
A: 你的年終要怎麼花？
B: 辛苦了一年所以我打算要去三井outlet買到手軟犒賞自己。你呢？

你知道嗎？據報導，有將近三成的員工會因為公司不舉辦尾牙而萌生辭意，可見尾牙在上班族心目中有多重要。國外雖然沒有「尾牙」，但類似的聚餐英文可以說成year-end party或year-end banquet。尾牙中常見的活動可用show或performance表達，例如：awards show (頒獎), magic show (魔術秀), talent show (才藝表演), dance performance (舞蹈表演)等。
A: I can't believe our budget for hiring party entertainers got axed.
B: Guess we'll just have to make more use of our own employees. I say we put together an awards show and have the department heads present the awards. Maybe also introduce a few dance performances in-between breaks. What do you think?

表演什麼的當然不是重點，尾牙的重頭戲一定是抽獎啦。「抽獎」或「摸彩」的英文是raffle或lucky draw，「獎項」則是prize(s)，「安慰獎」在英文中說成consolation prize，「中最大獎」可以用win the first prize或take home the first prize。
A: I'm totally psyched about the year-end party.
B: You mean the raffle part? Well, I don't know about you, but I don't need another small kitchen appliance donated by one of our suppliers.
A: No. I hear the first prize this year is a vacation for two to Hawaii, and they'll also be offering cash prizes from NT$20,000 to NT$100,000.
